Sinha held discussions with Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat and other top security officials, urging them to take strong actions against the terrorists responsible for the attack. “You have full freedom to crush terror outfits and leave no stone unturned to complete this mission,” Sinha asserted. He condemned the act of targeting civilians, warning that those responsible would pay a heavy price.

The grenade was lobbed at a CRPF bunker near a busy flea market in Srinagar, injuring 12 civilians in the crowded area. The attack occurred amidst heightened tensions in the region, following recent clashes between security forces and militants.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah condemned the attack on civilians, calling it “deeply disturbing.” In a post on social media platform X, he expressed dismay over the targeting of innocent shoppers at the “Sunday market” in Srinagar. He emphasized the need for the security apparatus to act swiftly to restore peace, saying, “The security apparatus must do everything possible to end this spurt of attacks so that people can go about their lives without fear.”
