CRS App Makes Birth And Death Registration Easy – How It Works? Step-By-Step Guide

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday launched Civil Registration System (CRS) mobile application, which aims to facilitate seamless and hassle-free registration of births and deaths. Amit Shah called this application a part of Digital India vision and initiative to integrate technology with governance. This application is going to provide the citizens with an option to register birth and death form anywhere in the country just by downloading the app on their mobile phones.

How Are Births And Deaths Registered In India?

The Registration Of Births And Deaths Act, 1969 (Act No. 18 of 1969) is an act that provides guideline for the regulation of registration of births and deaths and for matters connected therewith. Registrars are appointed for each local area under Section 7 of the RBD Act, 1969 for registration of births and deaths occurred under their jurisdictional area. Registrars may belong to a municipality, Panchayat, Government health institution or other local authority appointed by the State Government. In case of domiciliary Birth & Death, Citizen needs to inform the occurrence of the event to the respective Registrar, within 21 days of its occurrence. How To Use This App?

Step 1: Download Civil Registration System (CRS) app on your mobile.

Step 2: Upon installation, you will be asked to create user login ID.

Step 3: After logging in, a dashboard page will appear on your screen. In the dashboard page, few options will appear which include Birth, Death, Still Birth and Services.

Below these options, a small box will be there which will show the number of birth registered so far within specific time frame. There will be a pending option list also.

Step 4: If the person wants to register birth, he has to click on the Birth option. He will be redirected to a new page which will have further details regarding registration.

Step 5: The page will feature legal information which includes Child’s date of birth, time of birth and gender of the child. Details of father and mother’s name has to be provided for further action. After submitting these details, the birth will be successfully registered.

This app is available in Google Play Store and can be easily downloaded and used. It is available as ‘CRS-Orgi.’
