New Delhi: The Head Constable of CRPF Cobra 222nd Battalion, Mohammad Hakim Suleman was martyred during a Naxal-attack on an under-construction police camp in Dabbakonta. The camp was being built in a highly Naxal-affected area of Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district. He was given a final salute on Wednesday morning at the CRPF head quarter in Jagdalpur. During the ceremony, along with Bastar IG Sundarraj P, top CRPF officers and local police, a large number of Cobra battalion personnel were also present.
The CRPF Cobra soldier was involved in an encounter with the naxalites. He was shot in the chest after which he was Bought to the filed hospital at the Bhejji CRPF camp. Here he lost his life while he was being treated.
Posted in Sukma district for a few years
The martyr jawan was posted in Sukma district for the last few years. He was a resident of Palakkad district in Kerala. While giving the guard of honor to the soldier, the fellow soldiers became emotional. The dead body of the soldier will be taken to his home village on Wednesday evening through a chopper.
Forces setting up camps in Naxal dens
IG of Bastar Sundarraj P said that they have been setting up camps in areas known as Naxal dens. This caused tension on the side of the Naxalites. A joint team of CRPF DRG is engaged in the security of the police camp under construction at Dabbakonta.
Here is what happened?
Naxalites ambushed about 300 meters away from an under-construction camp. They then attacked the camp on Tuesday and fired on the soldiers engaged in the security. The soldiers immediately retaliated. The exchange of fire lasted for almost half an hour. In this exchange the CRPF Cobra soldier was shot in the chest.
The fellow soldiers rushed him immediately to the camp hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The IG has retaliated and said they are combing the area regularly. And they are sure to get big success in security operations.
