A disturbing video has emerged on social media platforms showing a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Jawan mercilessly beaten by the Kanwariyas, or pilgrims taking part in the Kanwar Yatra, at a railway station in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh.
The video clearly shows approximately 10-12 Kanwariyas attacking the CRPF jawan with punches and kicks per reports and eye-witnesses, as it allegedly takes place in full view of his young child among the throng of people at the train station.

Details About The Incident
This viral video shows Kanwariyas dressed in saffron clothing attacking the soldier in uniform in front of many other people at the Mirzapur Railway Station. Even more shocking, is that the soldier was assaulted in front of his minor son. The video’s incident is going viral on social media and internet users are condemning the incident.

According to reports by The Lens, the jawan is named Gautam, from Khutha village in Mirzapur which is under the Mirzapur Dehat Police Station jurisdiction. Gautam was waiting for the Brahmaputra Mail train on his way to Manipur, where tension has boiled over due to the Kuki-Meitei tensions over the last two years. He was posted to the disturbed area as a CRPF personnel. It was stated that he was accompanied by his son who was a minor.

There are other reports that an argument ensued between the jawan and some of the kanwariyas at the station. The argument escalated quickly into a full-blown assault with the group of kanwariyas beating Gautam in full public view.
It all happened on film and is being spread all over social media. You can see in the film that the kanwariyas first kicked and punched Gautam after they took him down to the ground. The group then walked away and stood by when Gautam’s son attempted to put Gautam on his feet. Onto which Gautam attempted an attack on the kanwariyas and fell down, and during this the kanwariyas again assaulted with kicks and punches once they put him down.
