New Delhi: Around 300 lawyers from the Supreme court and several high courts stated to condemn the remark of Union law Minister Kiren Rijiju that "some retired judges belong to anti-India gang".  Expressing strong objection to the law Minister's comment, the lawyers, in their statement said, "We may remind the Minister that criticising the government is neither against the nation, nor unpatriotic, nor "anti-India". The lawyers said that the criticism of the government is every bit as patriotic as those of the government.  By threatening retired judges, Kiren Rijiju is sending a message to every citizen, the statement further said.  A tussle between the union government and the judiciary has been going on over the collegium issue.  Also Read: ‘Kilkari’ in Kuno National Park!
