New Delhi: In a tragic incident, a five-year-old boy was allegedly killed by three fellow students at a madrasa in North East Delhi, the police reported on Sunday. The three accused, aged between 9 and 11, reportedly committed the crime because they wanted a holiday from the madrasa — an idea they picked up from watching a crime show on television.

Mother’s Distress Call and Discovery of the Crime

The incident came to light when the boy’s mother called the police late Friday night, around 10 pm, from outside Madrasa Taleemul Quran in Delhi’s Dayalpur area. She reported that her son, who studied at the madrasa, was unwell and suspected foul play. When the police arrived, they found the boy with blisters on his neck, back, and waist.

The boy was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where he tragically died during treatment. Following his death, the police conducted a post-mortem, which revealed that the boy had suffered severe internal injuries due to physical assault.

Investigation Leads to Shocking Revelation

The police registered a murder case and began investigating the madrasa. After reviewing CCTV footage and interviewing the boy’s friends and other students, the authorities identified three boys — two aged 11 and one aged 9 — as the perpetrators. During questioning, the boys confessed to committing the crime in hopes of getting a holiday from the madrasa so they could go home.

Influence of Crime Show on the Young Accused

Further investigation revealed that the three young boys had been influenced by a crime show they had watched on TV, which led them to believe that such an act could result in the declaration of a holiday. The victim, they said, was targeted because he had called them names. The madrasa has since been locked, and all the children have been sent home. The police are proceeding in accordance with the law, referring the case to the Juvenile Justice Board.
