Gunfire has erupted once again in Karnal, Haryana. A police officer was fatally shot outside his residence. ASI Sanjeev, serving in the Yamunanagar Crime Branch, was killed. Reports indicate that the murder occurred near his home. During the incident, he was on a walk when assailants on a bike approached and shot him in the head.

Criminal activities in Karnal are increasing. Initially, in Ongad village, motorcycle-borne miscreants fired shots outside a shop, followed by another incident. This recent incident took place near Kutel village in Karnal, where ASI Sanjeev resided. Sanjeev, an officer in the Haryana Police, was posted as an ASI in the State Crime Branch in Yamunanagar. He had recently undergone surgery and would return home daily after his duty.

As per reports, in the evening while Sanjeev was walking outside his house, two assailants on a bike appeared and fired two shots. One bullet struck Sanjeev in the forehead and the other in the waist. He was then taken to a private hospital in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries.

Following the incident, police and CIA teams arrived at the scene, recovering bullet shells. Meanwhile, the family was overwhelmed with grief upon hearing the news.

It’s important to note that Sanjeev’s brother and father passed away some time ago, leaving him with all the household responsibilities. The police are also reviewing nearby CCTV footage. It remains to be seen how quickly the police can curb crime and apprehend the murder suspects after this incident.
