Kolkata: Kolkata Police have confirmed that the crime scene at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, where a 31-year-old doctor was raped and murdered last week, has not been compromised, despite reports of mob violence. They clarified that the room where the crime took place remains untouched, dismissing rumors of vandalism.
What is happening at this hour in #Kolkata is absolutely Insane. The emergency room at #RGKarCollege where the rape and murder took place has been destroyed by a violent mob. Multiple doctors I’ve spoken to say “the police did nothing to help us” . Breaking @themojostory pic.twitter.com/ToLfvBS94c

Political Accusations Fly
Mamata Banerjee has sent her TMC goons to the apolitical Protest Rally near RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.

BJP Leader of the Opposition, Suvendu Adhikari, accused Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of orchestrating the violence by sending Trinamool Congress (TMC) supporters to disrupt the protest. He suggested that the mob was intentionally allowed into the hospital to destroy evidence. Adhikari claimed that the police either fled or looked the other way, facilitating the mob’s entry.
TMC’s Response to the Incident
The hooliganism and vandalism at RG Kar tonight have exceeded all acceptable limits. As a public representative, I just spoke with @CPKolkata , urging him to ensure that every individual responsible for today’s violence is identified, held accountable, and made to face the law…
