While Bhajanlal Sharma will be sworn in as CM, BJP plans to inaugurate two Deputy Chief Ministers – Diya Kumari and Premchand Bairwa. However, Congress has challenged the appointment, questioning the role of Deputy Chief Ministers according to the Constitution’s Articles 163 and 164. Congress State President Govind Singh Dotasra raised concerns, stating that no such position is specified in the Constitution.
pic.twitter.com/8Lw14EQxqa

Nevertheless, DK Shivakumar took the oath as Deputy CM in Karnataka on May 20, prompting some to remind Dotasara of this incident. Previously, Sachin Pilot became Deputy CM but took the oath as a minister instead, highlighting the absence of the Deputy CM role in the Constitution’s provisions. The government’s order to district collectors also emphasizes the oath of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers members. Bhajanlal Sharma, a former state general secretary of BJP, ascends to the position of MLA and CM for the first time, marking a significant milestone in his political journey.
