New Delhi: A movement was organized by the Congress on August 5, 2022 against the anti-people policies of the Modi government. It fully reflected the sentiments of the general public. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s desperate attempt to stigmatize a nationwide justified protest as ‘black magic’ exposes the sense of insecurity arising out of the blatantly rising prices and the BJP government’s complete failure to control unemployment.
Congress to take the fight forward
The Congress party will take this fight forward in the coming weeks as a series of protests against price hikes and unemployment. Congress party will organize ‘Mehengai Choupal’ from 17th to 23rd August, 2022 at Mandis, retail markets and other places of all assembly constituencies for mutual consultations.
To organize multiple protests
This will culminate in the rally ‘Mehengai Par Halla Bol’ at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi on August 28, 2022, which will be addressed by senior Congress leaders. All the State Congress Committees will simultaneously organize the program ‘Mehengai Par Halla Bol – Dilli Chalo’ at state, district and block level.
Essential goods have become too pricy
The people of India are bearing the brunt of the economic mismanagement of the Modi government. Inflation is rising due to high taxes on essential goods like curd, buttermilk, and packaged food grains.
Meanwhile, the transfer of public property to friendly capitalists and the introduction of the directionless Agneepath scheme is making the employment situation worse. Indian National Congress will continue to spread awareness among people on these anti-people policies and will increase pressure on the BJP government to change its wrong policies.
