New Delhi: Several Congress leaders from Rajasthan Saturday gathered outside All India Congress Committee (AICC) office in the national capital to raise slogans in support of Sachin Pilot. All of them raised ‘Congress ka yuva Sachin Pilot Zindabad’ in unison.

This comes a day after former deputy CM of Rajasthan, Sachin Pilot, landed at 10, Janpat to meet Congress’ interim chief Sonia Gandhi. After the meeting, Pilot asserted that he shared his sentiments with party chief.

“Sonia Gandhi met us today and patiently listened to our views. We thoroughly discussed the Rajasthan political crisis. I honestly portrayed my sentiments and feedback to her. We will have to work hard together to win the next assembly elections in Rajasthan. All the decisions regarding Rajasthan and its politics will be taken by Sonia Gandhi,” said Pilot.

Pilot’s meeting was held hours later of a significant announcement made by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. His statement helped in settling down a political drama in Rajasthan.

In his major announcement, Gehlot refused to contest elections for the Congress presidential post. His decision came in a backdrop of his another announcement where he apprised to step down as Chief Minister in order to seek Congress’ chief post.

Following this, over 80 MLAs — Gehlot’s loyalists — had submitted their resignation to the Assembly Speaker CP Joshi at his residence.

All of them opposed the candidature of Sachin Pilot as next CM.
