Congress’s 85th plenary session: Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday said congress looks forward to aligning with like-minded parties to defeat the ‘anti people’ BJP government in the upcoming general election.
In his speech on the second day of Congress’s 85th plenary session, Kharge said the country is facing challenges such as the attack on constitutional and democratic values, issues related to border security, high inflation, and record unemployment.
” In such a difficult situation, the Congress is the only party in the country that can provide capable and decisive leadership, ” Kharge said.

From 2004 to 2014, a Congress led-alliance of like-minded political parties served the people of India, He added.
” We once again look forward to forging a feasible alternative by aligning with like-minded political parties to defeat anti-people and undemocratic BJP governments,” the Congress president said.
Kharge took a swipe at PM Modi also, he said, “one who calls himself a ‘Pradhan sevak’ is serving the interest of his friends”.
In his address at the 85th Plenary session, Kharge reiterated that BJP is conspiring to destroy democracy in the country, but the congress is working to unite the country.
