New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Randeep Surjewala on Friday said that the leadership only discusses the issue in the interest of the party whereas the decision of choosing cabinet ministers is in the hands of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

“Decision to form a cabinet and who to include in the cabinet is of Chief Minister. Siddaramaiah has discussed various names with the party, we have now left it for him to decide…,” said the Karnataka Congress in-charge.

“I was told by him ( Siddaramaiah) that the further extended cabinet will be swearing-in tomorrow, in Karnataka,” he added.

Earlier on May 20, Senior Congress leader Siddaramaiah took oath as Chief Minister of Karnataka whereas DK Shivakumar swore-in as his deputy. CM Siddaramaiah has become the CM for the second time after Congress registered a big victory in Assembly election held on May 10.

In the mega oath-taking ceremony in Bengaluru’s Sree Kanteerava Stadium, 8 other MLAs including Dr G. Parameshwara, K.H. Muniyappa, K.J George, M.B Patil, Satish Jarkiholi, Priyank Kharge, Ramalinga Reddy, and B.Z. Zameer Ahmed Khan also took oath as ministers.
