Congress leader Salman Khurshid on Tuesday said the cessation was initiated by the Pakistan DGMO, and there was no mediation by anyone in understanding between India and Pakistan.
After the briefing by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, Congress leader Salman Khurshid said, “There was no interference by anyone (in understanding between India and Pakistan), there was no mediation. But when such things happen in the world, different people try to send a message. But whatever has happened, has happened only between the two nations. When the matter escalated, it was between our two nations. When it ended, it ended between the two nations. It was initiated by the Pakistan DGMO, they said that we should end this. We said that it should be done if they are ready.”
He further said, “Politics within the country is our right, our duty; it is different. But outside the country, what we have to say, is different.”

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said, ” A ceasefire was suddenly declared while our brave Armed Forces were conducting operations against terrorists. The US President has insulted our country by saying, “I brokered” the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, and repeated this, not less than 7 times. The entire country was united in the tough action against terrorists, but Modi ji is trying to cover up the issue by not providing clarity to the people of the country regarding US President Trump’s statements, so far.”
PM Modi has been making frequent foreign trips for the last 11 years, but when India needed international support to expose Pakistan, no other country came forward to support us.

Congress alleged that US President Donald Trump’s announcement of a “ceasefire” between India and Pakistan was an attempt to internationalise the Kashmir issue.
The party has been reiterating its demand for a special session of Parliament in the wake of the Pahalgam attack and the following developments.
Rahul Gandhi reiterated the “unanimous request” of the Opposition to convene a special session of Parliament “immediately.”
“It is crucial for the people and their representatives to discuss the Pahalgam terror attack, Operation Sindoor and ceasefire, first announced by U.S. President Trump. This will also be an opportunity to demonstrate our collective resolve to meet the challenges ahead. I trust that you will consider this demand seriously and swiftly,” Rahul Gandhi said.
