Dabhad (Maharashtra): The Congress has started its foot march with “greater vigour and devotion” today in Maharashtra’s Dabhad village in Thane district. On Friday, the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ entered the 65th day.
Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar was also scheduled to join ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ today but he will not be able to do so due to his deteriorating health. The NCP chief is currently admitted to the hospital where he has been going under treatment.
However, Shiv Sena leader Aditya Thackeray will show up in the foot march to support Gandhi to interact with locals.
The Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress are allies who had formed a coalition government after 2019 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly polls. The leadership was handed over to Uddhav Thackeray of Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction), Sharad Pawar and Congress leader Sonia Gandhi.
Since its arrival in Maharashtra, the Congress was covering Nanded district, a stronghold of the former Chief Minister and Congress’ Senior leader Ashok Chavan.
