New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi Thursday said that the post of party’s president represents a belief system and a vision for India.
Said the Congress leader: “The Congress president is not just an organisational post, it is an ideological post. It is a belief system. Whoever becomes Congress president should remember he represents a belief system and a vision of India,” reported the news agency UNI.
The former Congress leader was addressing media during his roadshow “Bharat Jodo Yatra”.
Gandhi had clarified multiple times that he will not be taking the position of Congress’ president. Even though, there was a large section of the grand-old part who wanted Rahul Gandhi to take the responsibility of Congress as chief.
However, three strong faces of Congress are rumored to be contesting the polls of Congress president including Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Former CM of Madhya Pradesh Digvijay Singh and MP from Thiruvananthapuram Shashi Tharoor.
