New Delhi: In a crucial move before the 2024 General elections and Assembly elections in 4 states, Indian National Congress on Sunday announced its 39 members Congress Working Committee (CWC).
Sachin Pilot and Sashi Tharoor( who went against Mallikarjun Kharge in the party’s presidential election) have been included in the CWC, a decision-making body.
Party’s organization general secretary KC Venugopal said the Congress Working Committee consists of 32 permanent invitees and nine special invitees. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, AK Antony, Meira Kumar, Digvijaya Singh, P Chidambaram, Anand Sharma, and some other senior leaders are also included in the CWC.
Anand Sharma, who was part of the G-23 group which demanded reform in the party, has also found his name in the top decision-making committee.
As per the information, a total of three members-Sachin Pilot, Gaurav Gogoi, and Kamaleshwar Patel- are under 50 years of age.
According to sources, Sachin Pilot is likely to be made in charge of states while Priyanka Gandhi Wadra will see an increase in her responsibilities.
