Conflict Takes Drastic Turn, 10th Standard Student Sets Classmate Ablaze Over Brawl

A 10th standard student poured petrol on a classmate and set him ablaze over damaging a school bag.

In a shocking incident, that took place at Aligarh’s City High School on Tuesday, a 10th standard student poured petrol on a classmate and set him ablaze. This cold-blooded action rooted from a conflict over mangling a school bag.

The victim, Mohammer Kaif, is currently hospitalised. He endured approximately 25 per cent burn injuries. Fortunately, he is in a stable condition.

According to the officials, the scuffle over damage to their bags took a drastic turn, which led to a student igniting his classmate. However, as per the victim’s statement, there was no brawl between him and the accused. Kaif asserted that someone came and poured petrol on him before setting him ablaze while he was sitting on the school grounds. He further stated that his friends tried stopping the accused and extinguished the fire. He added that there was no issue between him and the accused.

Kaif’s father said that he was informed about the information over the phone and was told that he was undergoing treatment. He further added that he subsequently filed a police complaint.

As a consequence of the brutal stunt, the accused has been suspended from the school. Additionally, in response to the complaint filed by Kaif’s family, the police have registered a case against him. In order to get to the bottom of the matter, the school has also set up an inquiry committee.
