Mumbai CNG Price: The price of CNG has been hiked once again in the country’s financial capital Mumbai. State-owned gas company Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) has increased the price of CNG by Rs.6 per kg. The price of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) has also been hiked by Rs 4 per unit with immediate effect.
Earlier, on July 13, MGL had increased the prices. At that time the CNG price was increased by Rs 4 per kg.
At present, the price of gas is increasing tremendously in the international and domestic markets. The MGL said that due to the rising prices of natural gas, the prices of CNG and PNG have been increased.
Over the past several weeks, suppliers and distributors were forced to cut industrial supplies due to rising prices. This is the sixth increase in prices since April this year.
“Due to the significant increase in gas cost, we have decided to cover the cost. Therefore, we have increased the retail price of CNG (compressed natural gas) by Rs 86 (per kg) and that of domestic PNG (piped natural gas) by Rs 52.50 (per unit),” MGL said in a statement.
