Syed, an auto driver by profession, was detained in Gujarat’s Rajkot on Sunday for allegedly transferring money to Sakriya. He was in constant contact with the prime accused over the phone during his stay in Delhi. During questioning, Syed told the police some strange stories. The police filed a case of attempted murder against him and began an investigation. They seized his mobile phone and found some suspicious phone numbers that Rajesh had been in contact with. However, Sakriya, a 41-year-old man from Rajkot in Gujarat, told the police that he attacked Gupta on August 20 because she did not listen to his appeals against removing stray dogs from Delhi.

However, investigators are not yet certain whether the ₹2,000 sent to Rajesh was specifically meant for the attack on Delhi CM Rekha Gupta. The group will also be questioned together in a face-to-face interrogation. The Delhi Police are still investigating whether Tehseen Sayed masterminded the attack on Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. The inquiry into his involvement is ongoing.
The Rajesh Khimji Sakariya’s mother revealed to the media the motive behind the attack. She stated that Rajesh, a passionate dog lover, acted out of anger over the controversial issue of sending dogs to shelter homes, a topic sparking heated debate in Delhi.
