Cloud burst in Pithoragarh: The monsoon is causing heavy rains even as its 2022 season comes to an end. It is raining heavily in the mountains. That has created troubles. On Friday night also, the heavy rain on the mountains disturbed the people. This has caused havoc on the Indo-Nepal border.

Heavy rain in Pithoragarh late night has caused great devastation on the India and Nepal border. There is huge loss in Nepal. A lake formed in the Kali river has been formed from the debris. Dharchula’s Premnagar of Khotila has been submerged by the lake formed in the Kali river. Reports of missing people.

Cloud burst near Lasku, Nepal

On Friday night, it rained on the Indo-Nepal border. Around one o’clock in the night, Lasku drain took a formidable form due to cloudburst near Lasku in Nepal. The flow of the Kali river was affected by the debris that came along the drain.

About two km long lake in Kali River

More than 50 houses of Vyasnagar situated on the river bank of Khotila were submerged due to the formation of about two km long lake in the Kali river near Khotila Vyasnagar. The villagers were alert in view of the weather, among the villagers of Vyasnagar, Malla started running towards Khotila. A woman, who was believed to be missing, went to the roof of the house to save her life.

SDRF, police engaged in relief work

The Gaushala of Dharchula Municipality on the banks of the Kali river collapsed and five cows were washed away. The embankments were washed away. The bridge in Khotila was washed away. As soon as the information is received, disaster management, revenue team, SDRF, police are engaged in relief work. Relief material is being transported by helicopter to Khotila. The affected are being shifted to safer places.

On the other hand, there has been huge devastation in Nepal. More than a dozen houses have been washed away. Some people are reported missing. Eight to ten vehicles were washed away with the debris.

 

Rain disrupts life in Champawat

The plains of Champawat district also received heavy rainfall on Friday night. The rain continued till Saturday morning. Due to rain in Banbasa, the water level of Sharda and Hoodi rivers has increased. Water logging has occurred at many places in the market and rural areas.

In Tanakpur too, it rained for some time from 5 o’clock in the morning. In the mountainous areas too, there was partial drizzle with thundershowers this morning. The sky is overcast now and the sun is shining. According to the information received from the disaster control room, the Champawat-Tanakpur National Highway remains smooth for traffic. Vehicles are also plying on rural roads.
