Uttar Pradesh is the fourth-largest state in terms of area, It has many expressway projects. Some of the projects are already open to the public, and some are in a proposed state. One such project is the Chitrakoot Link Expressway. The Chitrakoot Link Expressway will be constructed by the Uttar Pradesh government, with an estimated cost of over Rs 514 crore. The main objective of this project is to connect Chitrakoot to the Bundelkhand Expressway with a better road. According to an official statement issued on Saturday, the Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) has finalized the plan of this project, and its work is expected to start from July.
This Greenfield Expressway project will be 15.175 km long and is targeted to be completed in 18 months. Initially, it will be developed in four lanes, but there is a possibility of expanding it to six lanes in the future.
According to UPEIDA, this expressway is being prepared in such a way that vehicles can run on it at a maximum speed of 120 km per hour. The width of the main road will be 40 meters, which will be connected to a 3.75-meter-wide service road at several places. Apart from this, a 200-metre-long and 7-metre-wide service road will also be constructed near the bridges.
The project also provides for the construction of the main road, a modern drainage system, advanced lighting (which includes 10-metre high poles and 30-metre high high mast lights), and clear lane markings. UPEIDA also informed that the work on the master plan and detailed project report (DPR) will start in July.
