New Delhi: Bihar BJP president Sanjay Jaiswal has claimed that Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan will campaign for NDA in the upcoming by-elections to be held on Mokama and Gopalganj assembly seats.
Addressing the media on Friday, Sanjay Jaiswal claimed that Chirag Paswan has always been with the BJP. He said that Chirag Paswan will campaign for NDA-backed candidates in Mokama and Gopalganj on October 31 and November 1.
Bihar BJP President has said that all the constituent parties of NDA are putting their energy in this. He said like the Presidential and Vice Presidential elections, NDA allies are together.
Jaiswal makes serious allegations against Mahagathbandhan
Jaiswal made serious allegations against the Mahagthbandhan government in the state. He said that RJD wants to retain its seat in Mokama and for this RJD workers are threatening the traders and shopkeepers here. RJD supporters are threatening shopkeepers that their shops will be looted if they do not vote for RJD.
Chirag Paswan was part of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA). He fought the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections on his own, but could not do anything special. Last year, his uncle Pashupati Paras also parted ways with him and formed his own party. At present, Pashupati Paras is a minister at the Center and his party is part of the NDA.
Chirag Paswan once called himself the Hanuman of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He was further enraged after the humiliating eviction of his family from the government bungalow allotted to Chirag’s father, Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan. He had said that I have been on my way in the last one and a half years. There is no point in such an alliance where there is no mutual respect.
Why are by-elections being held in Mokama and Gopalganj?
He has been convicted in a case related to the recovery of arms and ammunition, including an AK-47 rifle, from the residence of former Mokama MLA Anant Singh in Patna, following which his assembly membership was cancelled. The by-poll in Mokama is being held after Anant Kumar Singh was disqualified by the Bihar Assembly in July this year. Anant Singh was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment by a special court on June 21 this year.
Gopalganj by-election is being held on August 16 this year after the death of its sitting MLA and former minister Subhash Prasad Singh.
