New Delhi: Senior officials of Twitter India and Delhi Police were summoned before the Delhi Commission of Women (DCW) on Tuesday in child pornography case.

The DCW said the answers submitted by both the parties are incomplete and not satisfactory. Owing to which, the commission has spared them a short period until September 30.

The women’s commission has asked the Twitter India and Delhi Police to file a proper reply this time.

DCW chairperson Swati Maliwal on September 20 had issued a notice against peddling child pornography videos on Twitter. She said that the videos have been shared for mere Rs 20 all over the microblogging site.

Twitter was summoned also for failing to delete the videos.

The DCW chairperson had written on Twitter, “Thousands of people have shared recordings of young girls being raped. Videos of women bathing are being put through intelligence cameras. These companies follow laws abroad and turn a blind eye to the obscenity and rape of women in India.”
