In Jaipur, Rajasthan, three people, including a child, were trapped in a basement filled with water due to heavy rainfall in the Dhawaj Nagar area. This new disaster comes just days after the tragic death of three UPSC aspirants who drowned in the basement of a coaching center in Delhi’s Old Rajendra Nagar area.

Jaipur DCP Amit Kumar said, “Reports say that three people are trapped in the basement: a woman, her niece, and a man. The basement flooded because a wall collapsed, leaving them with no time to escape. We are working on their rescue. It will take about an hour and a half to pump out the water, and we hope to get them out soon.”

Civil Defence member Asrar Ahmed reported that the basement was filled with 30 feet of water. Inside, a young child and a 19-year-old girl are trapped, while a young man is stuck in the neighboring house.

“We received the information this morning, and when we arrived, there was 30 feet of water. We are currently reducing the water level and will begin the rescue operation in the basement once it’s lower. Three people are trapped: an 8-year-old child and a 19-year-old girl in one basement, and a young man in the house next door,” said the Civil Defence member.
