Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will visit Varanasi on December 2 to attend the inaugural ceremony of the fourth edition of the Kashi Tamil Sangamam. This significant event, which strengthens cultural ties between North and South India, is now in its fourth year. The formal inauguration will take place on Tuesday at Namo Ghat.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi, Puducherry Lieutenant Governor K. Kailash Nath, and several other distinguished guests will grace the ceremony. Centered on the theme “Tamil Karkalam” (Learn Tamil), this year’s edition will bring more than 1,400 delegates from Tamil Nadu to Kashi.
Traditional artists from both Kashi and Tamil Nadu will present a joint performance, offering a vibrant blend of India’s diverse cultural heritage.
Apart from attending the inaugural ceremony, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is also expected to visit the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple and the Kaal Bhairav Temple for darshan.
The first group of students participating in the Kashi Tamil Sangamam departed from Kanyakumari on Saturday morning by a special train. The group includes 43 students from Kanyakumari, 86 from Tiruchirappalli, and 87 from Chennai. They will arrive in Kashi on Tuesday and, after a brief tour, join the inaugural programme at Namo Ghat in the evening.
Upon arrival, the Tamil Sangamam 4.0 delegates will first visit Hanuman Ghat, where they will take a holy dip in the Ganga, visit temples associated with South Indian traditions, and learn about their historical significance. The delegates will then visit Baba Vishwanath at the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham and receive prasad at the Maa Annapurna Rasoi.
Following this, all delegates will proceed to Banaras Hindu University (BHU) to attend academic sessions and explore various important locations on the university campus.
