Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel announces Rs 10,000 crore relief package for farmers affected by unseasonal rains

The Chief Minister stated that during this hour of natural calamity, the State Government stands with the farmers with full empathy and understanding of their distress.

Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel has announced a relief package of ₹10,000 crore for farmers affected by crop damage caused due to unseasonal rainfall in Gujarat.

In a post shared on social media on Friday, CM stated, “This year, Gujarat has witnessed an unseasonal rainfall, the kind not experienced in the past two decades, which has caused significant damage to the crops of farmers across various districts of the State.”

In this context, my fellow Ministers and I personally visited several affected districts to interact directly with the farmers and assess their situation on the ground.

The Chief Minister stated that during this hour of natural calamity, the State Government stands with the farmers with full empathy and understanding of their distress.

He further said, “Considering the widespread crop loss suffered by farmers across the State, and keeping their sentiments in mind, on behalf of the State Government, I announce a relief and assistance package of approximately ₹10,000 crore for the farmers.”

He also stated that, in addition to this, from 9th November, the State Government will begin procurement of groundnut, moong, urad, and soybean from farmers at the Minimum Support Price (MSP), amounting to a total value of more than ₹15,000 crore.

Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel affirmed, “I assure that the State Government has always been, is, and shall continue to remain committed to the economic well-being and prosperity of our food providers.”
