Chhattisgarh: Two CRPF Jawans Martyred In Naxal IED Blast In Sukma

Chhattisgarh: Two CRPF CoBRA jawans lost their lives in an IED blast by Naxalites in Sukma's Jagargunda area on June 23.

Chhattisgarh: Today June 23, two CRPF CoBRA 201 battalion jawans lost their lives in an IED blast planted by Naxalites between Silger and Tekulagudem, within the Jagargunda Police Station limits in Sukma district.

On Sunday, two members of CRPF’s CoBRA jungle warfare unit were fatally injured when Naxalites detonated an improvised explosive device, targeting a truck in Sukma. The incident occurred around 3 pm near Timmapuram village, situated between Silger and Tekalgudem camps of security forces, Chhattisgarh, more than 400 km away from the state capital Raipur, according to a senior police official.

A reconnaissance team from the 201st unit of the Commando Battalion for Resolute Action had begun patrolling from Silger camp under the jurisdiction of Jagargunda police station. They were tasked with Road Opening Party duties towards Tekalgudem, traveling in a combination of trucks and motorcycles.

According to him, Naxalites detonated an IED targeting the truck, resulting in the deaths of constable Shailendra (29) and vehicle driver Vishnu R (35). Additional forces were promptly dispatched to the scene upon receiving the alert about the blast, and efforts were underway to recover the bodies from the forest.
