A major accident has occurred in the Mukutlah plant in the Saragav area of Mungeli, Chhattisgarh, where the chimney of a factory fell, trapping several workers under the debris. Police and administration teams have reached the site and are working on rescue and relief operations.

Mungeli Collector Rahul Deo said that, “Labourers feared trapped at an iron-making factory in Sargaon, Mungeli after the silo structure of the factory collapsed. One injured labourer has been admitted to a hospital.” He further said that, “Police and Administration are present at the spot. Rescue operation is underway”.
The factory owner, Aditya Agarwal, reported that about 10 containers are filled with debris, and a trailer is also trapped beneath it. The police have managed to rescue two people who were stuck under the rubble, but the total number of individuals trapped is still unclear. It is known that around 400 workers come to work at the plant daily.
The plant was under construction when the chimney collapsed, trapping over 30 people in the debris. The factory was planned to produce iron pipes. After the chimney fell, workers at the plant informed the police. Emergency teams quickly arrived at the scene and began efforts to rescue those trapped under the rubble.
