A shocking case of suicide has emerged from Kailashpati Nagar under the Rudri police station area in Dhamtari district, where a woman professor living in a rented house committed suicide by hanging herself in the house… In the suicide note found by the police, it is written, ‘Forgive me, mummy, papa, I am sorry….’
The woman professor is identified as Sushma Sahu, who was a guest professor at Narayan Rao Megha Wale Girls College. According to the reports, she was a guest professor in Chemistry who committed suicide by hanging herself in her rented house in Kailashpati Nagar.
The woman professor had written a suicide note before taking her own life in which she addressed to her parents that, ‘Forgive me, I am committing suicide of my own free will, I am sorry, mummy and papa’, and then proceeded to hang herself from the ceiling fan.
According to the information received by the Deputy Superintendent of Police Dhamtari, Mani Shankar Chandra, the woman professor had previously gone to Raipur to enjoy the summer holidays. Still, when she returned to her rented house in Kailashpati Nagar on June 13, some of the neighbours called out to the female professor Sushma Sahu, but strangely, there was no response from inside. After a lot of attempts, people started to get suspicious, and eventually the door was broken down by the neighbours which revealed a horrifying scene.
The neighbours informed the Rudri police about this after which an FSL team was called to the spot. The body was seized immediately and a panchnama was prepared and the body was then taken to the district hospital in Dhamtari for post-mortem.
It is said that after the post-mortem, the body will be handed over to the family. Meanwhile, the police are still investigating the reason behind why the female professor committed suicide.
