A shocking incident has been reported from Korea district of Chhattisgarh, where a 36-year old man has raped his daughter and niece. The age of the girls are 11-year and 12-year old respectively. As per the TOI reports, the accused was out on parole and was convicted for rape cases in the past.
According to the police, he had threatened minors to remain silent after sexually assaulting them. The daughter of the accused told Police that he raped her on October 19 at their home. She was told that she would face dreadful consequences if she informs anyone about the incident.
Korea Superintendent of Police, Suraj Singh Parihar said that after raping his daughter, he raped his niece on 21 October after taking her to the forest on pretext of collecting firewood. He added that the man threatened his niece also.
The girls were initially fear struck to disclose the incident to anyone, later they confided in each other before going to the police. They went to the police on Saturday. Police called their assaults ‘horrifying.’
The accused fled at once after he got to know about the revelation by the girls to the police. The officials sent out multiple team to search for him, but he was not tracked initially. Police added that as the accused was not using any phone, it created difficulties in tracking his movement.
However, late on Sunday, the police were successful in tracking the accused and caught him after activating their information network. He was arrested from a forest in neighbouring district of Korba. The accused has been charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
He was produced before the court and sent to jail. As per reports, he was already locked in Ambikapur jail for a rape case.
