In a shocking incident that has left the city of Raipur in shock, a 16-year-old girl reportedly murdered her boyfriend, Mohammed Saddam, by cutting his throat with a knife he had previously used to threaten her. The incident occurred at Avon Lodge, under Ganj police station; and, they found his body on Sunday.
The young man’s body was discovered on Sunday, in a pool of blood, after the girl disclosed to her mother that she’d had cut his throat with a knife, which he had previously used to threaten her during a confrontation.
The young girl, who lived in the Koni police station area of Bilaspur, had travelled to Raipur on September 28 to visit Saddam, a man from Bihar who worked as an MS Engineering officer in Abhanpur. They had been at the lodge together since Saturday, but they were experiencing serious issues. Police told reporters that the couple’s relationship was “on the rocks” after Saddam forced her to get an abortion for a three months pregnancy. The fight escalated when he produced the knife and threatened her.
On the night of September 28, while Saddam was asleep, the girl took the very knife and stabbed him. Once he was dead, she locked the door, took Saddam’s phone with her and threw the key away near railway tracks. By Sunday morning, she was back in Bilaspur and told everything to her mom.
The mom immediately took her to the Koni police station and informed Raipur police which eventually recovered Saddam’s corpse. The investigation remains ongoing while police have been trying to contact Saddam’s family residing in Bihar. The girl is now in custody and is being interrogated so police can gather information on what happened after the murder. Police believe repeated arguments over her pregnancy and Saddam’s alleged threats led to the murder.
“This appears to be both a crime of passion and desperation. The investigation will determine whether it was premeditated or a spur-of-the-moment act,” an investigating officer told NDTV.
