Maoist’s Mayhem In Chhattisgarh: 9 Killed As Naxals Explode IED, Blow Up Security Vehicle In Bijapur

A tragic incident occurred in Bijapur district, Chhattisgarh, where a vehicle carrying security personnel was blown up by Naxalites using an improvised explosive device (IED).

Nine individuals, including eight security personnel and a driver, were killed in a tragic incident in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district on January 6, 2025. The attack was carried out by Maoists who detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) targeting a vehicle carrying these personnel. The incident occurred around 2:15 PM while they were traveling on the Bedre-Kutru Road, returning from an anti-Maoist operation in the Abujhmad region.

According to Bastar Inspector General (IG) Sundarraj P, the jawans were returning from a joint operation of Dantewada, Narayanpur and Bijapur police when the blast occurred.

He added that reinforcements have been dispatched to the site and further details were awaited. “The additional security personnel have reached the area and combing operation the nearby area,” he said. He added the identification of the slain jawans is going on.

On April 26, 2023, 10 police security personnel and a civilian driver were killed in an IED attack by Maoists in the Dantewada district.
