One jawan was critically injured and died as he was being evacuated by the CRPF. A police official has said that the jawans were on an anti-Naxal operation in the forests of Indravati National Park near Bhopalpatnam and as they were marching on foot, the jawans accidentally stepped on a pressure-activated IED that had been placed by the Maoists in the Ulloor valley, the IED had sufficient explosive content to cause fatalities and injured four personnel. The reported condition of the other injured jawans is stable and they are out of danger. Police stated that reinforcements were sent to the site and also said more details will emerge shortly.
