The Chhattisgarh police arrested five men on allegation of gangraping a woman in Surajpur district. The incident took place in Bishrampur region. All five men hailed from Uttar Pradesh.
According to reports, the incident occurred when the woman’s husband had gone out of station for work and she was alone at home. All five men entered her house and pushed her into a room and took turns to rape her.
The victim was living with her husband in a small rented accommodation. The accused were working as labourers and were living near the victim’s residence. The initial probe suggested that the accused had an idea that the victim’s husband was not present at home and he had gone to Koriya for some work.
The men went to her home and asked about her husband’s whereabouts. She replied that her husband had gone outside. They pushed her into a room and raped her all night.
The victim approached the police the next day and lodged a complaint against one, Mohd Kadir. The police registered a case against the five men and launched a nab of others. The cops have arrested two accused who named other two men involved in the incident. The cops have produced them before the court.
