The democratic battle for 90 seats in Chhattisgarh is over but not over. The countdown has begun for the 2023 results to be announced on December 03 with the counting.
Exit polls 2023: Congress seems to have gained a decent number of seats if exit polls are to be believed but the opposition party, BJP has a completely different notion.
While the ruling party, Congress, claims to mark the majority once again, BJP is confident that the people of Chhattisgarh have given it their mandate.
None of the exit poll agencies show Congress touching the mark of 68 seats that it has currently as the ruling party. But the scores definitely predict its win by good numbers and that there is going to be quite a wide gap in the number of seats between the BJP and Congress so a chance for a neck-to-neck fight barely exists as per exit polls.

The state of Chhattisgarh was formed in 2000 and had Ajit Jogi, a Congress leader, as its first chief minister. But it is the BJP that has managed to strike the majority three times consecutively. From 2003 to 2018, Dr. Raman Singh has served as the chief minister thrice.

The fight for 90 seats is crucial for both parties as if BJP makes it to the majority, it will be labeled as the regular choice of Chhattisgarhians for winning the fourth time. And if Congress manages to continue to be in power, it will get its third session in the newly-formed state.

All the renowned exit polls including the most trusted and accurate poll analysis Today’s Chanakya have predicted Congress’ win in the 2023 assembly elections. If it comes to be true, Congress, for the first time will be forming government consecutively in this state.
Results 2018: If we have a look at the 2018 assembly elections of Chhattisgarh, most of the exit polls drastically failed as they predicted the BJP’s massive win and the coming back of the Raman Singh government.
However, the results depicted a very different picture and Congress achieved a landslide victory in the state gaining 68 out of 90 seats while the ruling party, BJP, was limited to merely 15 seats. Let’s take a look at who won what in the 2018 assembly elections.
