Six people, four of whom were minors, are accused by the police of raping a 13-year-old girl in the Jashpur region of Chhattisgarh. They have since been apprehended.
On Tuesday night, while the girl and her friend were making their way back to their village after a wedding, three of the accused—a 24-year-old man and two known minors—halted her.
According to the officers, the three raped the minor after sending her companion away and taking her to a nearby forest area. Three other individuals, one of whom was 21 years old, showed up at the location later and sexually assaulted her.
Early on Wednesday morning, the child arrived home and told her father what had happened. Her father went to the police on Thursday, and they filed a gang rape report in addition to using the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.
What did the Chhattisgarh SP say?
Superintendent of Police Shashi Mohan Singh of Jashpur stated, “After receiving the complaint we formed three teams and nabbed all the accused before they could flee.” “The four minors, who are between the ages of 16 and 17, have been detained; the adults have been arrested.”
