The LG claimed that people were confused as a result of the Chief Minister’s statement.
The LG’s secretariat office stated: “The suggestion to host Chhath Puja was specific to specified Ghats – Kejriwal tweeted as though Puja could be done everywhere on the Yamuna, confusing people.”
Additionally, LG Saxena instructed the Revenue and Environment departments to maintain strict compliance with the National Green Tribunal’s rulings regarding Yamuna pollution.
On October 21, Delhi Revenue Minister Kailash Gahlot told ANI, “CM Kejriwal has approved my proposal to allow the celebration of Chatth Puja at different Ghats along the Yamuna River, keeping in mind the religious and spiritual beliefs and sentiments of lakhs of people from UP and Bihar living in Delhi.”
He added that the government is working to set up facilities for the worshippers at over 1,100 Ghats.
“The Delhi Government has traditionally made the event easier by building Ghats and maintaining cleanliness around the locations where worshippers are expected to make offerings, among other things. The administration is prepared to offer the services to the pilgrims at approximately 1,100 Ghats this year as well “According to the minister.
People worship the Sun God at the Chhath festival, which will be held this year from October 28 to October 31.
One of the most blessed festivals in Bihar, Jharkhand, and Eastern Uttar Pradesh is Chhath Puja. The ceremony of “Nahai Khai” marks the beginning of the four-day festival, which concludes with “Usha Arghya” (prayers to the rising sun).
The festival is dedicated to Surya Bhagwaan (Sun God), which is the main source life on Earth.
