Chennai: Five people, including two women, were arrested following an alleged attack on YouTuber Savukku Shankar’s house in Chennai’s Kilpauk two days ago. On Tuesday, Shankar’s residence was ransacked, and sewage & faecal matter were reportedly dumped there in retaliation for exposing a purported fraud in the distribution of vehicles with jet-routing devices to Dalit entrepreneurs. According to Shankar, the scheme was funded by the central as well as the state government to benefit the Dalits and people who are below the poverty line.

Most Beneficiaries Above Poverty Line

Shankar told ANI, “I exposed a scam in the distribution of vehicles equipped with jet-routing machines to Dalit entrepreneurs. The scheme is sponsored by the central as well as state governments, meant for poor Dalits and scavengers. However, most of the beneficiaries are above the poverty line.” Meanwhile, he alleged that most of the beneficiaries, around 130 were actually above the poverty line.
