Chennai Shocker: Doctor Stabbed 7 Times By Patient’s Son, Accused Arrested

The man was attending a patient at the hospital. Tamil Nadu Health minister Ma Subramanian said that, the doctor is an oncologist and a heart patient too. He suffered injuries on his upper chest and head. He is in ICU and in stable condition.

Chennai Shocker: Doctor Stabbed 7 Times By Patient’s Son, Accused Arrested

A Man stabbed a Tamil Nadu Government doctor seven times at a Chennai hospital on Wednesday. The same doctor was treating mother of young man suffering from cancer, who stabbed him.

The man was attending a patient at the hospital. Tamil Nadu Health minister Ma Subramanian said that, the doctor is an oncologist and a heart patient too. He suffered injuries on his upper chest and head. He is in ICU and in stable condition.

A senior doctor said that, his colleague has a pacemaker, got cut on his forehead and back, in his ear and on his stomach.

How The Incident Took Place?

As per media reports, the attack on the doctor took place in the OPD, of Kalaignar Centenary Hospital. The man suspected that doctor has prescribed wrong medicine to his mother, who is a cancer patient. The accused, 26, when he was trying to escape after stabbing the doctor, got caught and was handed over to the police.

Tamil Nadu CM Stalin’s Statement

Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin has ordered an inquiry and promised medical aid. He posted on his X handle, saying, “Doctor working at Kindi Kalyan Centenary Hospital Mr. Shocking incident where Balaji was stabbed by a family member of the patient. The person involved in this atrocity was immediately arrested. Doctor Mr. I have ordered Balaji to give them all the necessary treatment and to conduct a detailed inquiry into the incident.”

He further stated that, “The selfless work of our government doctors in providing treatment to patients regardless of the time is immeasurable. The government will take measures to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.”

Tamil Nadu Deputy CM Udhayanidhi Stalin visited Kalaignar Centenary Hospital, Chennai.
