Low-Pressure Area Behind Heavy Rain
The IMD reported that a low-pressure area formed over the southwest Bay of Bengal on Sunday and has now moved near the Sri Lankan coast.
The associated upper-air cyclonic circulation, extending up to 7.6 km above sea level, remains active and is expected to drift west-northwest in the next 24 hours.
An earlier cyclonic circulation near Kerala’s southern coast has weakened.
