India is having various under process projects that are planned for enhancing the connectivity. One such development is going to be seen in Chennai Metro.
For the extension of Chennai Metro from Airport to Kilambakkam bus terminal a detailed project report have been submitted to the Tamil Nadu Government. This is integrated with the elevated route.
The Detailed Project Report was made following the government’s order to incorporate both metro rail and road infrastructure. As per the latest plan the metro route will be positioned at level 2 and the elevated route at level 1.
With this it aims to enhance the connectivity between Kilambakkam bus terminal and the airport.
The intermediate rams near Tambaram will be linking Outer Ring Roard on the other end the elevated route will be directly extending to the Kilambakkam bus stand, with plans of future expansion towards the Chengalpet.
The expansion extends 15.46 kilometers while serving the locations between Pallavaram and Vandalur including Chromepet and Tambaram and Perungalathur.
This plan comprising 13 elevated stations. For the development of this amount of Rs 9,335 crore will be needed and it covers both road and metro system construction, as per media reports.
