In a shocking incident that took place on Thursday, a 33-year-old supporter of actor-politician Thalapathy Vijay died while he was on his way to attend the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) party conference in Madurai. The deceased, identified as Prabhakaran, was a resident of Chennai. He was traveling in a van with his friends to attend the event.
Earlier today, his vehicle stopped near Chakkimangalam, and he went out for a short while. When he didn’t return, his friends started searching for him and later found him unconscious. He was immediately taken to the Madurai Government Rajaji Hospital for medical care. Prabhakaran was admitted to the ICU but died as Vijay addressed his second mega state-level conference in Madurai, reports added.
Thousands of supporters gathered today at the mega event from across Tamil Nadu to hear the 51-year-old actor-politician. During the conference, Vijay said that the electoral fight in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections 2026 will be between his party and the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK).
The TVK chief added, “TVK is not a party that makes underground deals, forges alliances, and cheats the people. We are not afraid of anyone. The people of Tamil Nadu, the women, and the youth stand with us.” Meanwhile, he invoked the legacies of C. N. Annadurai, M. G. Ramachandran, and Vijaykanth and reiterated that the BJP is his ideological enemy.
