Chennai: Chopped-up body of a woman was found in a suitcase in Chennai, the police said on Thursday after a local reported that blood had started trickling from it. One man has been detained in connection with the case.
The man detained in the case has been identified as Mani. He lives 100 meters after from the spot where the victim Deepa’s dead body was found.

It was during the incident that one of the residents at Kumaran Kudil in Chennai approached the police saying there had been an unclaimed suitcase left in the Thoraipakkam area around 5:30 am. The police took the body to a hospital to have a post-mortem done.
They said they recovered the CCTV footage of the area and the investigation was on.
Many Other Cases Also Took Place In Chennai
Last August, a 28-year-old woman was hanged to death by a man in a hotel room in the Triplicane area of Chennai.
A year ago, a 20-year-old nursing student was hacked to death by her boyfriend in a Chennai hotel. And then there is a picture of the body on his WhatsApp story. The murder was discovered when the victim’s friends saw that the accused, Ashiq, had posted it as his WhatsApp status.
After the informers of the case rushed to the police, they found the dead victim in the hotel room where she was staying with Ashiq. Soon, the police apprehended Ashiq.
