Ambarnath Gas Leak: A leakage of gas from a chemical factory in Ambarnath of Maharashtra has spread widespread panic. Fumes have spread over the entire city, reducing visibility and irritating eyes and throats of people. The incident gives a glimpse of the Bhopal gas tragedy of 1984 to many.

Smoky haze has blanketed the city’s roads, videos show. People exposed to it are covering their noses and mouths. The haze stretches as far as the eye can see. According to the reports from the scene, the gas has reached the railway tracks, and local residents cannot leave the town in an emergency.
So far, no serious injury or death has been reported. Identification of the gas and the cause of the leak is in process. Sources say teams have been sent to manage the situation. People have been advised to stay indoors by authorities.
