New Delhi: Today is another crucial day for India's ambitious moon mission Chandrayaan 3 as its lander 'Vikram' is scheduled to separate from the propulsion module of the spacecraft.As the mission is inching closer to landing, which is scheduled on August 23, Let's have a look at important aspects of the mission in 10 points. 1 - The Mission was launched on July 14 from Satish Dhawan Space Centre (Sriharikota) via GSLV Mark 3 heavy-lift launch vehicle.2- On August 17 successfully underwent the fifth and final lunar orbit maneuver.3- Chandrayaan 3 will land on the south pole of the moon. Russia's Luna-25 is scheduled to land in the same area. Both missions have significant implications in order to explore the unexplored. 4- The total budget of Chandrayaan 3 is Rs 250 crore (excluding launch vehicles). However, the launch service costs around Rs 365 crore. 5- Chandrayaan 3 consists of various electronic and mechanical systems including navigation Sensors, and propulsion systems. It has mechanisms to release rover, two-way communication antennas. 6- After launching the spacecraft completed five earth-orbit manoeuvres between July 15 to 25 and was successfully inserted into lunar orbit on August 5. 7- After separation the lander will undergo to position itself at a closest point in an orbit between the closest point of 30km and the farthest point of 100km. The orbit will set the stage for a soft landing. 8- The last attempt of ISRO to explore the south pole of the moon with Chandrayaan 2' failed after the aircraft missed the soft landing. 9- Chnadrayaan consists of a lander, a rover, and a Propulsion module which has an accumulated weight of around 3,900 Kilograms. 10- Once landed, the Chandrayaan-3 will be in operation for one lunar day, which is equal to 14 Earth days.Also Read: Chandrayaan-3 completes final lunar orbit maneuver, just 163 km away from surface
