Chandigarh: A deeply disturbing incident unfolded in Panipat, Haryana, where four unidentified men allegedly gang-raped three women in the presence of their family members, said the police on Thursday.
The horrifying incident reportedly occurred late on Wednesday when the accused individuals, armed with knives and other sharp-edged weapons, forcibly entered the family’s residence. Subsequently, they tied up the family members using ropes and proceeded to sexually assault three women labourers.
The perpetrators didn’t stop at the sexual assault; they also robbed the victims of money and jewellery. Disturbingly, another incident involving gang rape, robbery, and a fatal attack was reported just a kilometre away from the initial crime scene. Police suspect that the same culprits may have been involved in both incidents.
In the second incident, an ailing woman was brutally assaulted, resulting in her death, while her husband was subjected to a robbery. They forcibly entered the couple’s home, physically attacked them, and stole valuables, including the man’s mobile phone.

Both shocking incidents unfolded in the same village, as confirmed by Vijay, the station house officer of the Matlauda police station in Panipat. The officials are actively investigating the cases, but as of now, no arrests have been made.
Meanwhile, an 18-year-old was apprehended for sexually assaulting his 17-year-old adopted niece last month in Mumbai. The girl, along with her younger brother and cousin sister, had been placed for adoption with a neighbour in Mira Road following the tragic loss of both her parents within a span of four months.
