Centre Approves Caste Census: Follow These Steps To Apply For Your Caste Certificate Online

For work related to the caste certificate, one can visit the following sites- edistrict.up.gov.in for residents of Uttar Pradesh, serviceonline.bihar.gov.in for residents of Bihar, and edistrict.delhigovt.nic.in for residents of Delhi.

The central government has approved the caste census in the upcoming national population count. This decision means that citizens will be recorded not only based on demographic factors but also their caste identities, making caste certificates possibly required for participation. Previously, caste certificates were mainly needed for accessing reservation benefits in government jobs, scholarships, and welfare programs. However, with the new caste census directive, an official caste certificate could become necessary for all citizens.

According to the release, “Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs, chaired by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has decided to include caste enumeration in the upcoming census. How To Apply For A Caste Certificate:

For work related to the caste certificate, one can visit the following sites- edistrict.up.gov.in for residents of Uttar Pradesh, serviceonline.bihar.gov.in for residents of Bihar, and edistrict.delhigovt.nic.in for residents of Delhi.

Use the National Government Services Portal services.india.gov.in to find the search bar where you should enter “Caste.” The portal will then display links to online caste certificate application services for each state. Every state will offer its online caste certificate application services through the portal interface.

Here is the step-by-step guide for the new users:

If you are a new user, then you need to register as a new user on the website of your state. For this process, you need to click on ‘New User Registration’. After doing this, you need to enter details like name, mobile number, email address, address, Aadhaar card number, and other details. Once you complete the process, you will receive an OTP on your mobile number. After this, you need to create an ID and password. After this, you can use the created ID password to log in to the portal. At last, you need to click on ‘Caste Certificate’ to fill out the form.
