76 Gallantry Awards: President Draupadi Murmu on Monday approved 76 gallantry awards on the eve of 77th Independence Day. These gallantry awards will be given to personnel of the Central Police Forces and Armed Forces. These include 4 Kirti Chakras and 5 Shaurya Chakras. Besides this, Sena Medal, 52 Sena Medals, 3 Navy Medals and 4 Vayu Sena Medals have also been approved.

Posthumous honour

According to the information received from the Defense Ministry, Dilip Kumar Das, Bablu Rambha, Rajkumar Yadav and Sambha Roy will be honoured posthumously. All of them were personnel of the Central Police Forces. Apart from this, Major Vikas Bhambhu, Vivek Singh Tomar of Rajputana Rifles and Kulbhushan Manta of Rashtriya Rifles, Major Mustafa Bohra are included.

Gallantry medals

The President has given away 33 gallantry medals to the Central Police Forces on the eve of Independence Day. Thirteen medals have been awarded to jawans who have displayed gallantry in counter-insurgency and counter-insurgency operations in Jammu and Kashmir. Besides this, the President has also approved 30 Mention-in-Despatches for the Army.
