The National Cyber Crime Threat Analytics Unit of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, raised concerns regarding the exam’s integrity.

“The inputs we received were of a technical nature,” stated Jiswal. These inputs prompted the Ministry of Education to swiftly act and cancel the exam.

The Ministry of Education has transferred the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for a comprehensive investigation. It assures that it is taking all necessary steps, but cannot disclose detailed information at this time to avoid impeding the investigation. “The confidentiality of details is crucial to the ongoing investigations. We are swiftly implementing measures to safeguard the future of students,” said the official.

The Ministry of Education encourages students to stay informed as it will announce the new dates for the UGC NET exam soon. The ministry’s primary focus is to reschedule the exam promptly to minimize disruption to students’ academic progress.
